Expectation From Parents For Online Classes

Engage and Support

  • Ensure reliable access to internet and a computer/smart device that would allow your child to connect to the Chicago Persian School online classes, regularly.

  • Download the recommended apps for the video meeting and enhanced learning activities.

  • Support your child's success in the online learning by setting up a quiet study space for the duration of the classes and monitoring his/her participation.

  • Track the completion and submission of the completed homework.

 

Communicate and Connect

  • Maintain an open communication with your child's instructor to address any issue or concern.

  • Notify the teacher at least 24 hr in advance if your child can't attend a class. More than two consecutive absences in one month or more than four absences in one semester can result in termination of the registration.

  • Attend virtual parent-teacher conferences at the designated milestones to learn about your child progress, success, and challenges.

 

Safety and Conduct

  • Chicago Persian School expects all students to maintain a respectful attitude, during the class time.

  • In case of inappropriate behavior, the student will receive a warning from the teacher and/or school official(s) followed by notification to the parents. In case of the repeat and upon the third warning, a virtual suspension may be issued while parents' further assistance and involvement will be expected in order to correct the situation and to avoid termination of the registration.  Chicago Persian School policy requires termination of registration upon the fourth occasion of unacceptable behavioral issue.

Expectation From Parents For In-Person Classes

Engage and Support

  • Arrive on-time for the classes.

  • Track the completion and submission of the weekly homework.

  • Consider joining the Parents Committee to support the school, in any way that fits your interest and time.

  • Sign up to volunteer for snack and hall-monitoring.

  • Maintain an open communication with your child's teacher and/or school administrators to address any issue or concern.

  • Ensure your child's safety by walking him/her across parking lot to or from class. Chicago Persian School is not responsible for monitoring the students during the drop off and pick up times. Parents, caregivers and/or designated drivers are responsible for the safety of their children.

  • Encourage and model respectful behavior in and out of class, toward every member of the community, regardless of their age. Chicago Persian School has a zero-tolerance policy toward verbal abuse or bullying by anyone, children or adults.

  • Chicago Persian School expects all students to maintain a respectful attitude, during the class time.   • Discourage your child from bringing to school valuable items, favorite toys, or large amounts of cash. Students at the Chicago Persian School are absolutely forbidden from bringing any type of ball, toy guns, knives, matches, lighters, or any articles associated with violence or danger.

  • Encourage your child to wear appropriate and comfortable clothes with tied shoes. Clothing items with messages related to sex, drugs, or violence are not permitted at the Chicago Persian School. Final decision about appropriateness of clothing is made by school officials.

  • Above rules apply to all participating members,during any Chicago Persian School sponsored event/program.

Expectations from Students

For Online Classes

  • Respecting teacher and classmates,

  • Remaining connected to the online meeting for the entire duration of the class,

  • Avoiding distracting self or others, including checking other electronic devices or websites,

  • No manipulation of the app settings for the video meeting,

  • Remaining engaged with the class and the required activities,

  • No switching to other apps/pages on the computer or smart device during the class time,

  • No inappropriate language or behavior during the class time,

For In-Person Classes

  • Respecting teacher and classmates,

  • Staying at the school building for the entire duration of the school,

  • Leaving the space clean and tidy, 

  • No electronic/smart device in classroom,

  • No bullying or abusive language anywhere in the school or during any school event,

  • No misplacing classroom items (that do not belong to us) or damage to school properties,

  • No running in the hallways,

  • No aggressive or unsafe behavior in or outside of the classroom,

  • No valuables or toys from home,
