Our goal is to maximize the amount of Persian spoken in classes. However, we adjust that approach depending on the students in each class. While we want more exposure to Persian for our students, we are flexible in how we achieve that goal. We prioritize student engagement with the class activities and a sense of community among classmates compared to a strict Persian-only policy. However, our teachers are trained to use a variety of tools and methods (such as using peers as translators for each other), to fill the comprehension gap for the less fluent students.

Yes, mixing Persian and English is completely normal for bilingual/multi-lingual kids and not a reason for concern. Consistent exposure to Persian at home is the strongest path to guarantee deeper comprehension.
