- 01Parents are a vital part of the Chicago Persian School community. When you enroll your child, we ask you to: Support learning at home — read your child's teacher notes and class reports on Google Classroom each week, monitor homework assignments, and encourage timely submission of completed work. Communicate proactively — notify the teacher at least 24 hours in advance if your child cannot attend class, and stay in touch with the teacher or school administration about any academic, behavioral, or scheduling concerns. Uphold school rules at home — reinforce the same expectations we have at school, including limiting electronic device use during school time. Stay tech-ready — make sure your child has access to reliable internet and a device for online activities and homework submission, and download any apps the teacher recommends for class activities. Contribute to snack time — families are asked to sign up (via an online form) to bring a snack for the whole school during recess once per academic year. Attend the mid-year parent-teacher conference to discuss your child's progress, successes, and any areas of support.
- 02Yes, we welcome parents who would like to observe. Please coordinate with school administration in advance so we can arrange an appropriate time. Unannounced visits to classrooms are not permitted, as they can disrupt the learning environment for students and teachers.
- 03There are many ways to be part of the CPS community and contribute in a meaningful way. Parents can: Join the Parents Committee: an open group of current CPS parents who plan cultural or fundraising events, community activities, and family engagement programs. It's a great way to connect with other families and make a real difference for the school. Volunteer during recess: we welcome extra hands to help supervise students during the Sunday recess period. Coordinate Community Service: help plan and attend family-friendly community service activities that encourage a spirit of kindness and generosity in our children (see examples here). Support school events: cultural celebrations like Nowruz and Yalda always benefit from parent involvement. To learn more or get involved, visit our Parent Engagement page or email us at info@chicagopersianschool.org.
- 04The easiest way to reach us depends on your preference, we're flexible. You can: Speak with us in person on Sundays during school hours (we love face-to-face conversations when time allows). Email us at info@chicagopersianschool.org Call or text us at (847) 868-0577. Request a phone or video call if you'd like a real-time conversation outside of school hours.
