Join Dr. Shirin Vossoughi (Northwestern University) and a committee of parents and alumni from the Chicago Persian School to discuss the experiences of Iranian youth growing up in the U.S., and to share strategies for supporting positive cultural identities. Questions we will discuss include:
How do Iranian youth make sense of and navigate their bi-cultural identities? How can we help them develop positive relationships with Iranian culture & identity?
How can we support our children to respond to instances of discrimination, exclusion or stereotyping,
especially in the current climate?
How can teachers and schools become better equipped to serve Iranian youth?
